Hi muggs, I have Norton 360. I think you fix it in the same or similar way with Norton Internet Security.
Do like this:
First you open Norton.
Then choose “search now” or “run now”.
A new window will open, then choose the first option “fast search”. That will take care of the cookies.
When search is finished you can see how many risks were detected and fixed. You can choose “details” to see what kind of risk.
It’s always says “cookies” when I check it.

Thanks, worked. For the “cookies”, just learn how to clean your own registry, Other tricks: In internet properties, set privacy to advanced, block all 3rd party, allow 1st and session. Check maromedia flash player settings. Probably find the “iesnare” cookie in there.I have not used any virus protection for years. Those programs just slow your performance down.

i clean out my own registry too, but would not recommend it to anyone who does not know what they are doing as deleting is permanent.
muggs, i have norton 360 that pretty much does it all. i have thing quarantine that are REAL bad, and decide if i want to still run them, and only run them out of a contained area. there is a lot you can do to set things up yourself if you take a few minutes and look around. Start out with a full scan, and go from there.
Also I run Piroform Crapcleaner ccleaner.com and Malwarebytes and
that keeps everything pretty clean. I had to buy another computer last year I had so many viruses from all these damn casinos.
